Israel Adesanya: Izzy predicts winner of 2 fighters that defeated him in UFC
Israel Adesanya has suffered two losses in his MMAcareer at both fighters that beat him are set to square off at UFC 290.
Jan Blachowicz and Alex Pereira will be locked inside the Octagon at UFC 290 to mark Poatan’s debut in the light heavyweight division.
Adesanya’s clash with Blachowicz
The Polish Power defeated Adesanya on a unanimous decision when the Nigerian born New Zealand fighter attempted to become a two-weight division champion at UFC 259 in 2021.
Blachowicz who was then champion of the light heavyweight division put his title on the line and the Poland fighter successfully defended his strap.
The former light heavyweight champion dominated Adesanya in most of the rounds, scoring takedowns in the championship rounds to retain his title.
Israel admitted he found it hard to make weight and will not continue at the light heavyweight division before dropping down to the middleweight.
Adesanya’s fight with Pereira
On the other hand, Izzy suffered a fifth round TKO loss from his long time rival Pereira at UFC 281 despite leading in three of the rounds.
The referee stopped the fight after Poatan hit Izzy with a flurry of punches and the Brazilian who had twice beaten his rival in kickboxing became the undisputed middleweight champion.
However, the Last Style Bender bounced back at UFC 287 as he knocked Pereira down on the canvass and out to reclaim his middleweight crown.
Izzy’s prediction
Speaking on the upcoming fight between Blachowicz and Pereira, Israel believes it is going to become disastrous for Poatan when he clashes with the Polish Power inside the Octagon.
Israel was quoted by MMA Junkie:
“I think Jan is going to take him down and beat him up there.”
