Francis Ngannou and Obasanjo: Cameroon MMA star teams up with former President in Abeokuta

Cameroonian and French professional mixed martial artist and professional boxer Francis Zavier Ngannou has continued his tour of Nigeria.

The reigning Professional Fighters League champion decided to visit his West African neighbors to start the year 2025.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, Ngannou paid a visit to the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo.

The former UFC heavyweight champion took to social media to post a detailed photo compilation of his visit.

Ngannou's visit was to Obasanjo at his Abeokuta residence in Ogun State.

Along with the photos was a message by Ngannou that said, "It was an honor meeting the legendary former Nigerian president, H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday at his home office in Abeokuta.

"It was great receiving some words of wisdom from the legend."

Ngannou was complimentary of the visit to Pbasanjo, praising the impact and hailing him as a legend.

Obasanjo was President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 and is revered as one of the country's longest-tenured politicians.

The visit to Obasanjo comes after Ngannou teamed up with Kamaru Usman and Burna Boy in Lagos.
