Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has been honoured by French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille, with his induction into the club's prestigious Club of Legends.
Taiwo, who played for Marseille from 2005 to 2011, made a great impact during his six-year stint, registering 25 goals and 23 assists in 271 appearances.
He was a key member of the team that won the Ligue 1, League Cup, and French Super Cup for the French club.
The 39-year-old Nigerian international, who also played for AC Milan and QPR, retired from football in 2019 and has been living in France since then.
Marseille's Club of Legends is a hall of fame that recognises players who have made a great contribution to the club's history.
Taiwo joins an elite group of players, including Samir Nasri, Lori Cana, and Mamadou Niang.
The former Super Eagles left-back's induction is a result of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the club.
He is one of only four Nigerians to have played for Marseille, alongside Wilson Oruma, Joseph Yobo, and Victor Agali.
