Former Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed why he will never coach his beloved Premier League club in the future.

John Terry left Chelsea in 2017, after 22 years at the club where he became the most successful player in their history, with five Premier League titles, the Champions League, and five FA Cups among his trophy haul.

He was a consistent performer, tallying up more than 700 games for the club.

This summer, Terry returned to Stamford Bridge to sign a one-year deal as a consultant in the Blues' academy, but despite working in the club’s setup, the 42-year-old believes he has no chance of managing the senior team.

“My one dream I had when I left Chelsea was that I was going to come back as manager, but now I've realised it will never happen.

“It hurts me and it’ll constantly be niggling away at the back of my mind,” Terry said via Chronicle Live.
