It's rubbish - Super Eagles star Ola Aina settles Naruto vs Dragon Ball Z Anime debate
Super Eagles defender Ola Aina reveals how watching Naruto changed his view on anime, admitting it “turned my whole world upside down” after years of loyalty to Dragon Ball Z.
However, after 59 appearances, including an outstanding form last season, Aina was in danger of leaving the Reds for free, with his contract running out in the summer before he committed to the club.
Speaking to club media shortly after a preseason match against Monaco, Aina said, “Yeah, obviously I am happy. I am happy with it, I’m just glad to get it over and done with. I’m staying at home.”
The defender revealed his contentment with the length of the new deal, noting fatigue with previous one-year contracts.
“I was getting a bit tired from the year-to-year ones, but you know, it’s a bit of stability now, you know what I mean. I can just focus on football and doing my job for Nottingham Forest.”
Despite reported links to other clubs, Aina affirmed that there was never any doubt about his future. “I feel very at home here and to get it signed and just be settled, just fully focused, I’m happy with that.”
His commitment provides Nottingham Forest with stability in defense as they gear up for the upcoming season and their European campaign.
The Nigerian international played a key role in Forest's 2024-25 campaign, starting in 35 of their 38 Premier League games.
