‘We share the same vision’ - Hansi Flick ready to continue Xavi’s legacy at Barcelona

Hansi Flick was recently named as Barcelona's new manager, succeeding Xavi Hernandez, who was recently sacked by the club.

In January, Xavi declared he would leave his position in the summer; however, in April, Barcelona president Joan Laporta persuaded the legendary player to stay.

However, after making public criticism of Barcelona's financial situation, the former Spanish midfielder enraged Laporta, who chose to fire Xavi last Friday.

Following turbulent weeks at the Nou Camp, the former manager of Germany and Bayern Munich has signed a two-year contract with the team.

According to Fabrizio on X, Hansi Flick signed his contract as the new Barcelona manager until June 2026.

The new manager has also expressed his pleasure in joining the Spanish giants following his appointment.

Flick said, as reported by Fabrizio on X, “I’m proud to be at Barça, it’s a wonderful and incredible club, really.

“We share the same vision, possession and quality football. Barça has La Masia, one of the best academies in the world, so our mission is to improve all the players.”

Barcelona’s new manager has expressed his desire to retain the team's possession and high-quality football.

Flick has had a successful career as a manager, having coached Bayern Munich and the German national team.
