In the end, the home side, Remo, emerged victorious courtesy of a late penalty from Sikiru Alimi as the Sky Blues came from behind to seal all three points and early bragging rights. 

However, it was the opening goal of the game scored by the visitors, Sporting Lagos, that captured the minds of the people and has become a key talking point from the game.
