Onyi Echegini celebrated her first Juventus goal with a special dance of victory against Sassuolo.

Nigerian striker Jennifer Onyi Echegini opened her account for Juventus Women after scoring a decisive goal against rivals Sassuolo.

Echegini was the star as Juventus left it late to defeat Sassuolo 1-0 in a hard-fought away encounter.

Echegini shines for Juventus

The latest arrival from the United States proved to be the ultimate super-sub after coming from the bench to make her mark. 

Despite a dominant display from the Juve Women, there was nothing to separate both teams after 77 minutes of play.

With the match tied at 0-0, the 22-year-old replaced Cantore with just 12 minutes left to play.

10 minutes after coming on, the Super Falcons star struck the winner to give Juventus the win and three points.

Echegini was delighted to get off the mark for her new club and celebrated with a special dance after the game with one of her teammates. 

“Super excited to get this goal,” she said in a video shared by the club on X.com after the game.

“My first goal, I will never forget,” she added. “Three important points, i am excited to go forward as a team.

The Nigeria Super Falcons forward Echegini became the latest Nigerian in Italy after joining Juventus Women earlier this month.

The Super Falcons star joined the Juventus Women's team, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract that will see her wear the black and white until the summer of 2026. 

Echegini joined Juve after an excellent time at Florida State soccer side Seminoles, where she spent two seasons.
