Chelle named Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ahmed Musa, among 25 Super Eagles players, with key players like Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen missing from the squad.

Ahmed Musa will lead the squad of nine home-based players to the Unity Cup.

The Malian emphasised that the tournament will serve as a valuable opportunity to experiment with new players and strategies.

Speaking to the Nigeria Football Federation Communications (NFF Comms), Chelle said, “We’re looking forward to taking part in the Unity Cup as it will give us the chance to try out a few new players in different roles.

“It will help us strengthen our squad before the matches in September and October.”

The Unity Cup, scheduled to be held later this month, will feature a mix of home-based players.

The Unity Cup tournament, featuring Nigeria, Jamaica, Ghana, and Trinidad and Tobago, will be held at the 17,250-capacity Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London.

The tournament begins on Tuesday, May 27th with Trinidad & Tobago facing Jamaica in a historic first-ever UK 'Trini-Jam' semi-final. The following day, Nigeria will play Ghana in the second semi-final, reigniting their 74-year rivalry.

The third-place match and the final to determine the Unity Cup 2025 champions will both take place on Saturday, May 31st.
