Arne Slot’s Reds could lose another key player to one of LaLiga’s top sides after transfer report surfaced on Saturday.
Another key Liverpool player could leave Merseyside for Madrid amid fresh transfer rumours.
The Reds lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer after the Englishman’s contract expired.
Alexander-Arnold, whose move occurred sooner than anticipated after Los Blancos pushed to secure the right-back for the soon-to-begin Club World Cup, is expected to make his competitive debut for the Madrid giants in the revised tournament taking place in the United States this summer.

While Arne Slot’s team have replaced the England international with Jeremie Frimpong, the Reds could see another full-back depart to a Madrid-based club.
Robertson could leave Liverpool
According to Fabrizio Romano, Andy Robertson is being pursued by Atletico Madrid this summer, with Diego Simeone’s side identifying the Scotsman as their ideal candidate in this transfer window.
Romano states that the Madrid outfit, also interested in a deal for AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez, regard the Liverpool man highly internally at the Spanish club.
Robertson, 31, has made 251 appearances for the Reds in the Premier League and 342 in total across all competitions.
While not expected to score a plethora of goals, the left-back has netted 10 strikes in the top flight, adding one more in Europe to bring his tally to 11.
Romano further noted that the wide defender is ranked higher than Hernandez on Liverpool's shortlist.
After an injury-plagued 2023-24 season, Robertson appeared 33 times in the league, 10 more than the previous campaign, while the defender's total of 45 appearances greatly surpassed his 30 from 23-24.
What’s next for Atletico Madrid?
Atletico are set to commence their Club World Cup campaign against European champions Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, June 15, before facing Seattle Sounders and Botafogo on June 19 and 23, respectively.
