Transfer News: Everton keen on Grealish loan
Everton has shown strong interest in acquiring Jack Grealish. The 29-year-old England international, for whom Manchester City paid £100 million in the summer of 2021, is no longer in Pep Guardiola's plans, and the club is looking for a buyer.
Earlier this month, reports indicated City were asking for around £40 million for the player.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Everton is planning talks with Manchester City with the aim of loaning Grealish.
However, this is likely unfavorable for City, who would have to continue paying a significant portion of the Englishman's £300,000-a-week wages.
Grealish played in 50 games, contributing 16 goals and assists during City's treble-winning season. Since then, however, his form has dipped, and injuries have become more frequent.
Last season, he lost his starting spot, making only 20 Premier League appearances and registering just one goal and one assist. Due to his limited playing time, Guardiola left him out of Manchester City's squad for the Club World Cup.
