Transfer news: Club Brugge reject two bids for bronze medal Super Eagles star
The midfielder was impressive for the Super Eagles at the just-concluded 2025 Africa Cup of Nations competition in Morocco.
His performance got him significant interest from clubs across Europe, including Aston Villa and Galatasaray.
Galatasaray appeared to be leading the chase, having reportedly agreed to personal terms with Onyedika during the summer transfer window; however, Club Brugge's valuation of the player remains a major hurdle.
Brugge reject bid for Onyedika
The Belgian side is demanding €25 million for Onyedika and Galatasaray's recent proposal—a €5 million loan fee with a mandatory €15 million purchase option for next season—was swiftly rejected.
The Turkish giants have identified Onyedika as a key target on a midfield shortlist that also includes Paris Saint-Germain's Fabian Ruiz and Villarreal's Pape Gueye.
Despite the interest, Club Brugge are reluctant to sell their prized asset during the January transfer window, though a summer departure is considered more negotiable.
If the Belgian club remains firm on their asking price, Galatasaray may be forced to pursue their alternative targets.
Sources also suggest that Club Brugge would prefer to negotiate with clubs from Europe's top leagues in England, Spain, Italy, or Germany over a deal with a Turkish side.
