The Super Eagles captain has been in the news in recent weeks, having been linked with a move away from the Turkish team.

Ndidi recently returned to the pitch for Beşiktaş in their Süper Lig victory over Konyaspor on Saturday. 

He had been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty with Nigeria during their 2-0 win against Algeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

According to transfer specialist Ben Jacobs, Ajax proposed a loan deal for the Super Eagles captain, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

However, Beşiktaş swiftly rejected the offer, underscoring the midfielder's crucial role in their plans for the remainder of the campaign.

The 29-year-old has established himself as a vital player for the Istanbul-based club since his arrival last summer, making 15 league appearances and contributing one goal.

His impact has been significant enough to earn him a leadership position as one of the team's captains.

In other news, tragedy struck Wilfred Ndidi, the 29-year-old midfielder, whose father, Sunday Ndidi, recently passed away in a fatal car crash.

The news prompted an outpouring of tributes, spearheaded by Ndidi's club, Besiktas. Following the news of his father's death, Ndidi shared a moving message, mentioning that he had spoken with his father just hours before the accident.
