Ademola Lookman has been heavily linked with a move away from Atalanta throughout the summer, with Inter Milan emerging as the most likely destination.
The Nigerian international is Inter’s top attacking target, and they have already submitted an offer, which Atalanta rejected.
While Christian Chivu's side have yet to increase their bid, Lookman reportedly wants the move. At 27, the proven Serie A forward would be a major signing, expected to instantly bolster Inter’s starting lineup
Former Inter captain Beppe Bergomi, however, expressed caution in an interview reported by Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, as cited by FCInterNews.
“Players who leave Atalanta have tended to struggle,” he noted.
“But with that said, he could be a useful player. I hope he ends up in a Nerazzurri shirt.” Bergomi also warned that “then you have to change the system of play.”
Lookman scored 20 goals in 41 appearances for Atalanta last season.
