‘There is a player there’ - Mikel Obi hails Sancho's debut performance, backs him to shine at Chelsea
Sancho completed his transfer to Chelsea on transfer deadline day after the Blues agreed a loan deal for the forward.
The England international made his debut in Chelsea’s narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend.
Despite Chelsea’s poor performance in the game, the winger came in as a substitute to provide the assist for the winning goal.
Mikel hails Sancho
Former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi expressed his respect for Sancho after the player made his debut.
According to Chels HQ on X, Mikel said, “We saw the Jadon Sancho we saw at Borussia Dortmund.
“When his name was linked with Chelsea, I said he would be a fantastic player for us. He didn’t do it at United, but we can’t discredit the player he is. There is a player there.”

The 2013 AFCON winner has backed the England international to have an excellent season at the club.
Sancho will be hoping to rejuvenate his career following his move to Chelsea after his struggles at Old Trafford.
The winger will be looking to start for Chelsea when the Blues welcome Brighton to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
