Harambee Stars pair Amos Nondi and Alwyn Tera featured in midfield as Armenian giants Ararat Armenia overcame Ararat Yerevan 1-0 to keep their title hopes alive in an epic fixture played on Tuesday afternoon.

Tera started and featured for 59 minutes, before his fellow Kenyan Nondi came on for him for the rest of the match.

Mohammed Yattara scored the all-important goal in the fifth minute of the match which proved to be invaluable as they got all three points to put them to 39 points for the season after 19 games, just seven behind league leaders Pyunik, although they have a game in hand over.

Tera, who made his debut appearance for Kenya against Uganda in 2021, has made 17 appearances for Ararat this season, starting 11 times and scoring two goals.

He has also recorded one assist and has averaged a passing accuracy of 84 percent.

Nondi, who is a more regular feature for Engin Firat at national team level, has made 15 appearances and started just seven times. He has recorded an 88 percent pass accuracy.

His defensive numbers are promising, as he makes 1.7 interceptions a match, making 3.8 recoveries per game.
