Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to return to management ahead of the World Cup in 2026.

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in talks to become the head coach of Canada's national soccer team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This comes after he left Manchester United in 2021 and reportedly turned down an offer to manage the Norwegian women's national team in 2023.

Other notable managers, Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard, have already declined the offer.

If Solskjaer takes the job, he'll lead Canada in their home World Cup, which they're co-hosting with the US and Mexico.

According to the Evening Standard, the 51-year-old has been contacted by the Canada Soccer Association about the currently vacant job to lead their men's national team.

Solskjaer's level of interest in the potential opportunity is unclear.

He has never previously worked in international football, although a chance to lead one of the host nations at the World Cup could be attractive.
