The decision stems from a significant dispute with Ter Stegen, who has refused to sign a medical report required by La Liga after his recent surgery.

"These last few months have been particularly challenging for me, both physically and personally. Like any player, after sustaining an injury, my sole priority was to return to the pitch as quickly as possible, driven by the desire to help the team and do what I love most: compete.

"Over the past few weeks, much has been said about me, some of it completely unfounded. Therefore, I feel it necessary to respectfully and clearly present my side of the story."

"The decision to undergo surgery was made in consultation with medical professionals and was fully endorsed by the club. The intention was always to prioritise my health and long-term playing career, naturally in complete alignment with Barcelona's, so I could return to action as soon as possible and continue winning trophies.

"Furthermore, I publicly announced the minimum recovery period I would require, as advised by leading experts, and always in coordination with the club.

"I would also like to clarify, due to certain speculation, that all new signings and contract renewals at the club were completed before my surgery.

"Therefore, at no point could I have foreseen that the unfortunate circumstances surrounding my recent operation would be necessary for the registration of my teammates, whom I greatly respect and with whom I'm eager to share the locker room for many seasons to come. Any alternative interpretation seems unfair and inaccurate to me.

"Throughout my career, I have always strived to conduct myself with professionalism, respect, and dedication to the badges I've represented. I have a deep affection for Barcelona, the city, and the fans who have supported me for so many years. My commitment to these colors remains absolute.

"I understand that difficult moments can create tension, but I believe that through dialogue and accountability, we can constructively resolve this situation. I am fully prepared to cooperate with the club's management to address this matter and ensure the necessary clearances. Many things have changed, but one thing never will: I love you, Culers!" wrote Ter Stegen, as reported by Sportal.
