Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala finally responds amidst retirement rumours
Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has responded to her critics, who had spread rumours of her retirement from the national team.
Oshoala shuts critics up
Oshoala has been the Super Falcons' top player since she made her debut in 2013, but has been forced to take a backseat in the last two years due to the arrival of new talents.
At the just-concluded WAFCON, which the Super Falcons won, Oshoala had a bit-part role, watching from the bench for most of the tournament.
As a result of her reduced role at the WAFCON, speculations emerged from some quarters that the former Barcelona star would retire from international football.
However, Oshoala has now responded to the critics who want her to retire with a cryptic post in a video shared on social media.
In the video, which was shared by The Super Falcons, Oshoala posted herself working out on the bike with the caption; Your noise don’t pay my bills… my sweat does.

Oshoala has been a stalwart of Nigeria’s Women’s football, and it appears she will retire on her terms.
Arguably the greatest African female player of all time, the former Liverpool star has won 61 caps for the Super Falcons so far, scoring 31 goals.
She has represented the nation at three FIFA Women’s World Cups and still has a chance of playing her fourth in 2027.
Oshoala also has four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles to her name, including the latest one won in Morocco in July 2025.
