Peter Olayinka has made it two domestic doubles in two seasons since joining Serbian side Red Star Belgrade
Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has collected the second double of his Red Star Belgrade career after the former European Cup champions claimed their second title of the 2024/25 season.
Olayinka, who has four caps for the Super Eagles will be hoping that his trophy-laden campaign will be enough to get him a first Super Eagles call-up in three years.
Red Star shine bright in Serbia
Traditional Serbian powerhouses Red Star Belgrade made short work of the Serbian Super League in the 2024/25 season, winning the title with an incredible 27-point lead over their closest challengers Partizan Belgrade.

The 2024/25 title was Red Star Belgrade’s 11th in their history, extending their lead as the most successful team in Serbian SuperLiga history.
After winning the league title, Red Star Belgrade then switched focus to the Serbian Cup, where they dismantled Vojvodina 3-0 in the final to claim their fifth Cup title in a row.
Olayinka’s mixed 2024/25 season
Despite winning his second domestic double since moving to Serbia with Red Star, the 2024/25 campaign has not been completely rosy for Olayinka.

Injuries have blighted the Nigerian forward’s season, with an Achilles tendon rupture keeping him out for eight months between October and May.
Olayinka was only able to make 11 appearances throughout the season, scoring two goals and assisting two more in all competitions.
The Super Eagles hopeful returned from his injury in time for the Serbian Cup final, but was only able to make an appearance on the bench.
