Nigerians have been calling for the sack of the coach after a disappointing performance by the Super Eagles in the World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

A football lover has appealed to Nigerians to contribute one hundred naira to help the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) pay the Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro so that he can be sacked.

NFF board member Hon. Nse Essien revealed that it is impossible to sack the coach at the moment.

Pulse Sports reported that the current NFF board extended Peseiro's contract, but they cut his pay from $70,000 to $50,000, claiming they couldn't afford his prior wage.

Essien claims they are even having trouble paying him the $50,000 per month he is entitled to and that since taking over as the team's coach in May 2022, the coach has only gotten three months' pay.

"We have to respect Jose Peseiro's contract. If we had the money to give him (pay him off), we are going to relieve him. We are not happy," he said in an interview on AIT.

After viewing recent World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, some supporters of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been unhappy with Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro.
