Osimhen enjoying incredible season
Osimhen scored twice against Bologna in a 2-2 draw on the penultimate weekend in Serie A to reach 25 goals for the season, putting him in pole position to become the league’s top scorer this season.
With more goals than any other African player has managed in a single Serie A campaign, Osimhen’s importance to Napoli this season can not be overstated, and the Nigerian forward underscored his clutchness with yet another opening goal against Bologna.
Osimhen shows clutchness against Bologna
No other player has scored more opening goals than Osimhen this season, with the opener against Bologna becoming the ninth time that the Super Eagles forward has done so.
Osimhen’s penchant for scoring when things are level has helped Napoli break the deadlock in more matches than any other player in the Italian top flight.
He could end the season as the Serie A’s top scorer to finish off what has been a perfect league campaign for him and Napoli after opening a four-goal gap between himself and Lautaro Martinez in the golden boot race.
