The Egyptian forward continues to write his name into Premier League history, breaking several records and climbing higher in the league’s all-time rankings.

Mo Salah’s match-winning goal against Brighton saw Liverpool secure a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory and moved him into joint-eighth place on the all-time Premier League scorers' list. 

With 163 goals, the Egyptian superstar also matched Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler as the club’s record scorer in Premier League history.

Here is how he ranks on the list of Premier League's best goalscorers of all time

Alan Shearer (260 goals)

The undisputed king of the Premier League for goalscoring, Shearer, terrified defences with his powerful shots and aerial prowess at both Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United. 

The former England striker won the golden boot for three straight seasons between 1994 and 1997, while he won the league’s player of the year after leading Blackburn to the title in 1994-95. 

Harry Kane (213 goals)

A modern-day goal-scoring machine, Kane consistently delivered for Tottenham Hotspur during his time in North London.  

His clinical finishing, intelligence, and leadership qualities have made him one of the most feared strikers in the league.

Kane won three golden boots in 2015-16, 2016-17, and 2020-21, respectively. He was on track to break Shearer’s record but opted to leave for Bayern Munich in Germany.

Wayne Rooney (208 goals)

A versatile attacker, Rooney's impact on the Premier League is undeniable. His goals for Everton and Manchester United, coupled with his ability to create chances, made him a force to be reckoned with.

However, while he was a prolific scorer, Rooney never got to win the golden boot during his time in the Premier League.

Andrew Cole (187 goals)

A prolific striker, Cole's goalscoring exploits for Newcastle United and Manchester United were instrumental in their success during the 1990s. His clinical finishing and ability to find the net from any angle made him a lethal weapon.

Cole won the PL golden boot in 1993-94.

Sergio Agüero (184 goals)

A modern-day legend, Agüero's impact on Manchester City was immense. 

His goals, particularly his iconic last-minute winner against Queens Park Rangers in 2012, will forever be etched in Premier League history.

During his time with City, Aguero won the golden boot once, in 2013-14.

A midfield maestro, Lampard's goalscoring ability from midfield was exceptional, and he was an integral part of the greatest Chelsea side till date. 

His long-range strikes and ability to time his runs into the box made him a constant threat for Chelsea.

Thierry Henry (175 goals)

A true icon, Thierry Henry's elegance, pace, and finishing ability transformed Arsenal. His goalscoring records and impact on the Premier League are unparalleled.

Henry won four Golden Boot awards in eight seasons with Arsenal and was part of the famous invincibles that won the title unbeaten.

Mohamed Salah (163 goals)

Already the highest scoring African in PL history, Salah keeps on reaching new heights and has now matched Robbie Fowler as Liverpool’s top scorer in the PL after his fine strike in the win over Brighton.

His blistering pace, dribbling skills, and clinical finishing have made him a nightmare for defenders. He already has three golden boots to his name, with two of those shared.

Robbie Fowler (163 goals)

A prolific striker, Fowler's goalscoring prowess for Liverpool in the early years of the Premier League was exceptional. His clinical finishing and ability to find the net from anywhere made him a fan favourite.

Fowler also played for Leeds United, Manchester City, and Blackburn Rovers in the English top flight.

Jermain Defoe (162 goals)

A clinical finisher, Jermain Defoe's goalscoring ability was evident throughout his career. His pace, agility, and ability to finish from tight angles made him a constant threat for any defence.

Defoe played for Tottenham, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, and Sunderland in the PL.
