The former is dubbed to be a worthy replacement of the later.

Harambee Stars sensation Richard Odada has revealed that he would like Victor Wanyama to return to the side soon in order to try and help the team achieve their goals for the next couple of years.

Wanyama called time on his international career back in 2021, having amassed 64 caps and scored six goals, and now plys his trade for Montreal Impact in the Major League Soccer.

Odada incidentally made his debut just as Wanyama left but revealed he would like the former Celtic, Tottenham and Southampton midfielder to return to the set up so that they can help the side achieve its objectives.

“Victor was great and is still great as he is still playing football and I would also like him to return to the national team so that we can play together,” Odada said in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports.

“We have our career goals and if he comes back, we will benefit alot from his experience. I think he is like Mandela (Brian) who, if he plays or not, you feel his impact.

“ You will tell this guy is here as he talks all the time and rallies his teammates.

“So yes, it would be good if he returned to the national team so that we can help push the team forward.”

Meanwhile, Odada has spoken about comparisons to ‘big Vic’, with many football fans insisting he is his heir for the national team.

The former Red Star Belgrade midfielder has humbly insisted that although he appreciates the comparisons, he would ideally like to carve a career for himself.

“I appreciate that alot but you know, as an individual, I have grown up watching him,” said.

“I feel like he has inspired a lot of people, not just me because he was the first player to play in the Premier League.

“ He showed me that everything is possible as long as you are pushing and everything and he has had a big impact in world football by representing the flag and we appreciate it.

“For me being compared to him, I always put things in simple terms. I am Richard Odada and I can always be better every day.”
