Arsenal put pressure on Manchester City with a win over Bournemouth

Arsenal continue their chase for the Premier League title with a win over Bournemouth and put pressure on Manchester City.

The Gunners were brimming with confidence after sealing an important win last weekend against rivals Tottenham.

The 3-0 win against Bournemouth put Mikel Arteta’s men in a good position as Man City faces Wolves.

As it happened 

Arteta fielded an unchanged line-up after their important 3-2 victory against rivals Tottenham last week.

While Andoni Iraola made two changes for Bournemouth with Zabarnyi and Christie coming into the starting line-up.

The game started and Arsenal were in their strides putting pressure upon pressure on Bournemouth defenders.

Arsenal created many chances including the best chance of the game but were unable to open the scoring. However, It was not until the 44th minute when Kai Havertz was brought down by the goalkeeper for a penalty kick.

Bukayo Saka stood in front of the ball and slotted it easily past Mark Travers as the Gunners went into half-time with the lead.

The second half started and Bournemouth pushed forward and attacked the Arsenal defence, creating half chances. However, it was Arsenal that got the game's second goal to relieve the pressure from Bournemouth's attack.

Saka got the ball and played it to Rice who slipped a clever pass to Leandro Trossard on his left, he coolly slotted it past the goalkeeper and that doubled Arsenal's tally.

The away side got a goal back after some clumsy move but the goal was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper David Raya.

Arteta’s men kept their cool and added the third goal of the game after a brilliant move from Gabriel Jesus who slotted a nice pass to Declan Rice to slot in a rocket past the goalkeeper.

Arsenal controlled the remainder of the game comfortably until the referee blew the final whistle.
