In the Women's Super League, Aston Villa defeated Brighton with a goal from Alisha Lehmann, who scored for the second straight game to grab all three points.

Lehmann has struggled with her form this season having just scored two goals in her last 14 league games.

However, despite her bad form this season, she has now scored in two back-to-back league games for Aston Villa women.

Villa's goal in the 64th minute by Lehmann secured their seventh-place finish in the Women's Super League, according to reports from Goal.

The Swiss international's shot slid under Seagulls goalkeeper Melina Loeck into the back of the net, which was sufficient to guarantee all three points for Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old also scored her first goal of the season for Villa in their 1-1 draw with West Ham last weekend.

Meanwhile, Carla Ward, the manager of Aston Villa has announced her departure at the end of the season.

She opted to put her family first after a tough three-year stint with the West Midlands team, despite the club's best efforts to keep the 40-year-old on board.
