Manchester United’s ambitious plan to sign Victor Osimhen has been revealed, thereby possibly ending Chelsea’s pursuit.

Victor Osimhen's future appears set to dominate transfer discussions this summer, continuing the striker’s extended period of uncertainty.

Following a loan spell with Galatasaray, where he helped them secure the Super Lig title and domestic cup, reports suggest a potential move to the Saudi Pro League has now been ruled out.

According to Italian reports, while Osimhen declined an approach from Al-Hilal, his long-held ambition is to play in the Premier League, and Manchester United are said to be strongly linked with his services.

Victor Osimhen was named Most Valuable Player in the Turkish league.

Man Utd’s Osimhen strategy

The Red Devils are reportedly keen to bolster their attacking options after a disappointing 15th-place finish last season.

A significant hurdle, particularly given United's current financial situation, is Napoli's reported insistence on Osimhen's £63.4 million release clause.

However, Manchester United are reportedly exploring a creative deal involving players plus cash for the Nigerian international, as reported by the Gazzetta

The report suggests that Joshua Zirkzee is understood to be a key component in such a potential transfer, with the former Bologna forward still viewed favourably in Italian football.

Napoli accepting the reported plan hinges on the Serie A champions accepting the offer and Antonio Conte wanting a player of Zirkzee’s profile.

Have Man Utd made any signings?

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal with Wolves for the signing of Matheus Cunha, and Amorim’s team are still expected to be busy during the summer window, as sales and arrivals are anticipated at Old Trafford.

A move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is high on the Manchester outfit’s agenda, while Rasmus Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain
