Flamengo are keen to agree a deal with Arsenal to secure the early arrival of midfielder Jorginho for this summer’s Club World Cup.
The 33-year-old’s contract with Arsenal is set to conclude at the end of June, after which he is expected to join the Brazilian club on a free transfer.

As reported by The Athletic, the proposed contract would see Jorginho remain with Flamengo until December 2028.
The news states that discussions are now underway regarding Arsenal releasing him sooner, enabling his participation in the Club World Cup, which starts on June 14.
While no formal agreement has been reached, the Gunners are reportedly willing to accommodate Jorginho’s desire to feature in the tournament, provided a suitable arrangement can be established between the clubs.
Flamengo are scheduled to begin their tournament campaign against ES Tunis on June 17, while the Brazilian outfit will also take on Premier League outfit Chelsea and either LAFC or Club America.
