What was billed as the game of the season between the first and second side in the league was an entirely one-sided affair, as Real Madrid submitted evidence of their might against overachieving Girona.

Girona were presented the chance to go top of the table when they travelled to Madrid to face Ancelotti's side, the only team that has managed to beat them in LALIGA this season. 

Los Blancos on the other hand could open a five-point lead at the top with a win. Ancelotti's boys knew what they had to do, and pulled it off in grand style, romping the visitors 4-0, thanks to inspired performances from Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.
