After the departure of Karim Benzema, LaLiga giants Real Madrid have announced the arrival of a new striker with the arrival of Joselu.

LaLiga club Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of Spanish centre forward Joselu Mato to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real took to their social media account to announce the arrival of the Spain international on Monday.

According to the club, Joselu arrives on an initial loan deal from fellow LaLiga side Espanyol with the option to make the move permanent.

“Real Madrid and Espanyol have agreed the loan of the player Joselu, who is linked to the club during the next season, with an option to buy at the end of it,” the club stated in a statement on their website.

Joselu is the latest arrival at the club and could be the man to replace Karim Benzema at the club.

Benzema ended his 15-year romance with Los Blancos after he left the club for Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad earlier this month.

Joselu returns to the club for a second spell having initially joined the 14-time Champions League winner in 2009.

The 33-year-old will be hoping for a better outing this time after he made just two appearances in his first stint.

Joselu has also enjoyed a better time in his native country after a time-to-forget in the Premier League with Newcastle United and Stoke City.

He netted 16 goals and assisted two more last season but they were not enough to save his club from relegation.
