What happened?

The England international last played for the Red Devils on December 12th in a Europa League game. Since then, he has missed 11 games, all but one of which he failed to make the match-day squad.

No, Rashford has not been injured; he is being frozen out of the squad by head coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese initially kept his card close to his chest when asked why the 27-year-old had been dropped, but recently, he has been more forthcoming.

After the victory against Fulham, Amorim implied Rashford has not been giving his all in training and maintained the situation will remain unchanged unless he notices improvement from the forward.

Rashford's message

The Carrington graduate has been linked with multiple clubs this January transfer window, as his Manchester United career looks set for an end.

Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are the two front runners, but neither club has made significant headway, as the Red Devils are demanding a sizable loan fee on top of Rashford's big wages.

Despite the interest from overseas, Rashford could continue as a Red Devil beyond the transfer window, and while he has not convinced Amorim, he showed he is still committed to the team with his message after the triumph over Fulham.

“Congratulations on the win, lads,” he shared on social media. It remains to be seen whether he will be returned to the fold or if his departure is already cast in stone.
