England manager Thomas Tuchel has called up Premier League duo Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, both previously snubbing Nigeria, for the upcoming matches against Andorra and Senegal, while Manchester United players, including Harry Maguire, were notably omitted.
England manager Thomas Tuchel has named his 26-man squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against Andorra and a friendly against Senegal, with Premier League stars Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke.
Both Eze and Chelsea’s Madueke were eligible for Nigeria and the Super Eagles but have committed to the Three Lions, earning call-ups.

Victor Osimhen: Napoli reject €60M bid for Super Eagles striker from league winners
Napoli have reportedly rejected an opening bid for Nigerian goal-machine Victor Osimhen.
Crystal Palace midfielder Eze and Chelsea winger Madueke, who have previously turned down approaches from the Nigerian national team, are among the headline selections for the June fixtures.
Their inclusion shows England’s continued ability to attract dual-nationality talents, often at the expense of other nations like Nigeria.
The squad also features the recall of Ivan Toney, now playing for Al-Ahli, marking his first England appearance since Euro 2024.
On Toney’s recall, Tuchel noted that the England team has kept tabs on the former Brentford star and needs his personality in the squad as he looks to mould the Three Lions into his team.
“We want to see his personality in the group and see his quality,” he stated in a video posted by England’s national team on their X account.
Meanwhile, notably, there are no Manchester United players in Tuchel’s selection, with centre-back Harry Maguire among the high-profile omissions.
Maguire was in action as the Red Devils’ collapsed in the Europa League final against fellow strugglers Tottenham, who defeated Ruben Amorim’s men 1-0 in the final in Bilbao.
United’s England contingent, including youngster Kobbie Mainoo, has now paid dearly for the terrible season, with Tuchel excluding them from his team.
England will face Andorra in Barcelona on June 7 before hosting Senegal at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on June 10.
The matches are part of Tuchel’s preparations as he seeks to shape his team for the 2026 World Cup, with several fresh faces and returning stars hoping to impress.
