The match in brief
Inter Milan got off to a flying start, with Lautaro Martinez netting in the 21st minute. Hakan Calhanoglu then doubled their lead with a penalty after VAR correctly flagged Pau Cubarsí's late challenge.
However, Barcelona staged a stunning comeback, with Eric García's impressive volley and Dani Olmo's header giving them momentum. Raphinha's shot then put Barcelona ahead for the first time in the tie.
But Inter refused to back down, with Francesco Acerbi forcing extra time and Davide Frattesi sealing the win with a beautifully curled shot.
What Martinez said
“I am so happy. I am so proud of Inter Milan. I am so grateful to the fans and to my family who are here today,"he said, per the BBC.
"I wasn't in a great place and I wasn't 100% today, but the medical staff worked so hard to get me match fit.
"We will do what we can - we just have one more step to go. We want to go there and win it. We will do all we can to ensure that we get Inter Milan to the high summit of European football."
