Dani Olmo scored the solitary goal as Barcelona beat Mallorca to open seven-point gap on Real Madrid.

Although the scoreline does not reflect it, Barcelona had one of their most dominant games of the season in the 1-0 victory over Mallorca.

Hansi Flick names a rotated side, with one eye on the El Clásico Copa del Rey final this weekend. Still, the Blaugrana were utterly dominant, battering Mallorca with 40 shots, of which only Dani Olmo's found the back of the net.

Barcelona started brightly, with all three starting forwards Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Ansu Fati, having opportunities early on, but Mallorca goalkeeper Leo Roman was up to the task. Mallorca had a disallowed goal and a rare chance that hit the post, but they struggled to sustain pressure.

The deadlock was broken just 59 seconds into the second half when Dani Olmo collected the ball into his path after a low cross from Eric Garcia before burying it past Roman.

Barcelona looked likely to add a second, and should have done so when Pedri played Lamine Yamal through on goal late in the game, but Roman was once again on hand to prevent a goal. Barcelona won the game, and inch closer to the league title. Meanwhile, they will redirect focus to this weekend's Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
