For now, Nuno Espírito Santo remains the manager of Nottingham Forest and will lead his team in their home match against West Ham this Sunday.

However, following the recent controversy involving club owner Evangelos Marinakis, the Portuguese manager's future is far from certain. Despite this, Nuno himself has stated that he feels secure in his position.

"Yes, I think in that sense I am completely calm. We need to discuss the future of the club. How to handle things after the transfer window closes.

"What the commitment to the club is. The chairman and I want the same thing, which is the best for Forest," he began by saying at a press conference, explaining that the situation can be resolved, as reported by Abola.

"Yes, I think so," he asserted, also guaranteeing that his players' performance in the one-all draw at Crystal Palace was not affected by the controversy.

"No, the response against Crystal Palace was very good. We managed to shield the players from the noise, and they are focused on their tasks. They have a mature attitude in their match preparation," he said, revealing that a conversation is scheduled for after the game, during the international break.

"We didn't have the opportunity this week [to discuss it]. It was a difficult week for both of us. A lot of work. The chairman is now in Monaco [for the draw], as you know. But we will talk. This kind of thing should be done at the right time.

"The right time is after the game. Right now, we are focused on West Ham and then the international break, and that is the right time," he explained, also revealing they have already spoken briefly.

"Yes, we spoke on the phone. We agreed that after the game would be the right time to talk. But everything is fine. We are working hard to compete this season, which is what's really important. The conversation will happen after the game, as planned," he concluded.

José Mourinho has already been linked as a potential successor to his compatriot, and this Friday, that possibility became even more tangible following his dismissal from Fenerbahçe.
