Harambee Stars maestro Richard Odada has revealed the roles Anthony ‘Teddy’ Akumu, Michael Olunga and Brian Mandela have played in helping the side continue setting building blocks in order to achieve it’ targets for the forthcoming season.
The three players have been super integral for the side over the years, having all made their debuts during the 2010s, and are now the senior figures of the side that now consists of mainly players that have debuted for the side since 2020, including Odada.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports, Odada revealed the role each of the three players have played, in particular, lavishing praise on former Gor Mahia, Zesco and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Akumu, who has been his partner in crime in recent international games.

“Teddy is a good person, not just on the pitch but also off it,” Odada said.
“Off the pitch he is a brilliant boy. He understands a lot of things. Not just about football, but also life experiences because he is a senior player.
“He is older than me and has experienced a lot more about football than I have, so I always have to listen to what he says and everything.

Odada has revealed that Mandela’s leadership has been very important to the dressing room despite recently playing a peripheral role on the team following the stellar rise to prominence of both Reims’ Joseph Okumu and Portugal-based star Johnstone Omurwa.
“He influences the team in a good way no matter what, whether he plays or not, you will feel that Mandela is there.”

“I am always willing to learn from those more experienced than me, and always trying to get positive thoughts and positive ideas from my seniors.”
