Not good enough - Chelsea lament about Disasi after terrible performance in UCL against PSG

Chelsea supporters were subjected to the indignity of watching Aston Villa against PSG in the Champions League quarterfinal.

PSG defeated Aston Villa 3-1 in Paris on Wednesday, leaving Aston Villa in a difficult position to overcome the deficit in the tie.

Unai Emery decided to substitute Matty Cash with Axel Disasi, a player on loan from Chelsea, at the start of the second half, despite having a very strong first half.

The visiting Premier League club learned this lesson within minutes of the substitution, as the introduction of the French player at right-back against one of Europe's best attacking sides was always going to be a gamble.

Fans react to Disasi’s performance

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has established himself as one of the most impactful wingers in world football, faced Disasi and beat him easily.

The Chelsea supporters were unsurprised by their loanee's underwhelming performance against the skilled winger, though they were still disappointed.

According to Chelsea Chronicle, one user said: “Kvaratshkelia vs Disasi went exactly as expected then.”

Another added: “Disasi is so easy to turn.”

A third stated: “Ridiculous from Kvaratskhelia. True-purist talent. There’s no replacement for just clear, top-end quality from your wingers in these kind of systems. Makes such a difference. Disasi defending wide-areas (as we know) was always in trouble here. Insane.”
