Nigeria 4-0 Algeria: Flamingos take 1st leg advantage in FIFA U-17 women's World Cup qualifier
The Flamingos of Nigeria recorded a 4-0 win against Algeria in their first leg FIFA U-17 women's World Cup qualifier.
After their commanding first-leg win at Remo Stars Stadium, Soname gifted the Flamingos N4 million (N1 million per goal), while the NFF added N2 million (N500,000 per goal).
NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and Soname have confirmed the same incentives for the Blida match, setting the stage for a potential financial windfall.

Speaking on behalf of the girls, the coach of the Flamingos stated that the team is motivated and focused on taking the World Cup ticket.
“Our objective is to win the FIFA World Cup ticket. That is the big motivation. Yet, the monetary rewards have further incentivised my girls to go all out on Friday night,” Head Coach Bankole Olowookere told the NFF.

Despite the cold Mediterranean winds expected at the 8 pm kickoff, the Flamingos, who arrived in Algiers early Wednesday via Turkish Airlines from Istanbul, remain focused.
Olowookere, who guided the team to bronze in 2022 in India and the quarter-finals in the Dominican Republic last year, is likely to rely on attackers Queen Joseph (who scored twice in the first leg), Zainab Raji, and Kaosarat Olanrewaju, with midfielders Shakirat Moshood, Muinat Rotimi, and Philomena Isaiah providing support.

With substantial rewards and a World Cup berth on the line, the Flamingos are set to give their all in Blida.
