Flying Eagles star Daniel Daga confirms interest from Liverpool and other top European teams.

Nigerian youngster Daniel Daga has confirmed interest in him from Liverpool and other top European clubs.

The 16-year-old Flying Eagles star shone in particular in the recently concluded u-20 world cup held in Argentina, where he and the Nigerian team reached the quarter-final, beating the host country, and eventual champions Italy along the way.

Daga attracts interest

The midfielder spoke to the Nigeriainfo radio station about his future, as reported by Liverpool.com.

The former Dakkada FC star played in all five games for the Flying Eagles in Argentina, and was also part of the contingent at the U-20 AFCON tournament in Morocco.

He is reportedly on the radar of a number of clubs, and the player himself has confirmed the links, claiming top European clubs like Liverpool and AC Milan are hot on his heels.

Daga also revealed that he is been seeked out by clubs outside the top five leagues, and also clubs in the Championship.

Despite not lacking of big suitors, the midfielder explained that he is uninterested in making such a jump in his career.

He said he is at a stage where getting game time under his belt is better for his development, suggesting that he would lack for playing time at top European clubs.

Daga wants to take it a step at a time, referencing global superstar Victor Osimhen. The Super Eagles ace went through Wolfsburg, Charleroi and Lille, before enjoying his current fame at Napoli.

The youngster believes that is the way to go, and although he envisions himself at the biggest European teams in the future, he suggested that he wants to first move to a developmental club.

“Yeah, many clubs,” Daga said, per the report.  “Many clubs apart from AC Milan, Liverpool, Anderlecht. Many other clubs are looking for me – Watford, Club Brugge, and in Denmark, Midtjylland.

“It’s true they are all looking for me. But I’m not yet at the point because I’m looking for where I can play. Because in two years, I’ll be playing at the top like Osimhen.

“I want to see myself playing at Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd; play in the Champions League; play in the FA Cup, win the FA Cup and win Champions League in the next five years.”
