Nigeria's Super Falcons are Africa's best.

The Super Falcons, aiming to reclaim the African title, have had a subdued build-up, with their last match being a 2-1 defeat to France in December 2023.

This inactivity contrasts sharply with the preparations of their rivals, South Africa, who have played five matches since December.

However, the silence from the Nigerian camp is set to break with a friendly match against Cameroon reportedly planned for the next FIFA international window, according to journalist Sam Ahmadu.

The date and venue are yet to be finalized, but the encounter will provide head coach Justin Madugu with a crucial opportunity to evaluate both domestic and foreign-based players in a competitive environment.

Despite not qualifying for the 2025 WAFCON, Cameroon remains a formidable force in African women’s football and will offer a stern test for the Super Falcons.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group B of the 12-nation tournament, alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana. On paper, this group appears manageable, with Algeria yet to progress beyond the group stage in their WAFCON history, while Botswana and Tunisia reached the quarterfinals in 2022.

Elsewhere, Group A includes hosts Morocco, Zambia, Senegal, and DR Congo, while defending champions South Africa face a challenging Group C with Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania.

As Africa's top-ranked team and the most successful nation in WAFCON history, the Super Falcons will be looking to this upcoming friendly to ignite their campaign with just two months remaining before the tournament begins.
