A late Sheffield United goal denied Chelsea the maximum points at the Bramall Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino has shouldered the blame after his team's underwhelming draw against Sheffield United, acknowledging a lack of maturity in his squad.

A late Sheffield United goal ensured Chelsea left Bramall Lane without maximum points, which could have been crucial in pushing the Blues up the table.

Pochettino was clear that the team might still be developing the maturity needed to compete in a congested fixture schedule.

"Maybe I repeat too much but watching football like us, you identify very quick whether the team’s ready to compete or not. Today, that happened - maybe this group’s still not mature enough to compete in every game every three days," he said.

The Blues wasted no time in grabbing the lead. In the 11th minute, their first corner resulted in a dangerous delivery from Conor Gallagher. Remarkably, a defensive lapse by Sheffield United left Thiago Silva unmarked at the far post, allowing him to head home and open the scoring for Chelsea.

However, the Blades demonstrated resilience, refusing to buckle under pressure. They responded with a well-constructed equalizer later in the first half.

Gustavo Hamer orchestrated the attack with a clever pass that sliced through Chelsea's backline. Jayden Bogle capitalized on the opportunity, racing onto the ball and unleashing a powerful shot that beat the goalkeeper, sending the home crowd into a roar.

The second half began brightly for Chelsea, and they wasted no time regaining the advantage. In the 52nd minute, Noni Madueke displayed his attacking prowess by cutting inside from the right flank and firing a powerful shot into the far corner of the net, leaving the Sheffield United goalkeeper with no chance.

However, Sheffield United drew level again in the 90th minute of the game, leaving Chelsea and Pochettino frustrated.
