Jose Mourinho's AS Roma have reportedly contacted Chelsea for Armando Broja.

AS Roma have reportedly contacted Chelsea to inquire about their Albanian striker Armando Broja's transfer this summer.

The 21-year-old was impressive for Southampton in the Premier League two seasons ago, prompting Chelsea to keep him on the roster last term, but he missed a huge chunk of the season due to a cruciate ligament rupture.

He could now leave the West London club this season, as he is of interest to last season's Europa League finalists Roma.

Roma in for Broja

According to GetfootballNewsItaly, the Giallorossi have turned their attention to Broja, with their efforts to sign Atalanta's Dugan Zapata continuously frustrated.

Roma reportedly have Zapata's major transfer interest for the striker position and are safe to have reached an agreement on personal terms, but the selling club, Atalanta, have allegedly been changing the conditions of the deal.

Broja is seen as a likely option, and Roma, who have previously signed a striker from Chelsea in Tammy Abraham, have returned for another young talent from the Blues staples.

More on Roma

As Pulse Sports reported previously, Jose Mourinho is one of the greatest managers of his generation, not only for the success borne from his nous but also for his charisma and mannerisms.

Roma's pre-season friendly match against Partizani Tirana, in which the Giallorossi won 2-1, was another example of the Portuguese manager's incredible sportsmanship.

The former Chelsea boss, in a show of leniency, spared the opposing team manager, who made a grave error with his substitutions, leading to praise for what was regarded by many as a "class act."
