Manchester United have reportedly held encouraging contract discussions with one Premier League forward regarding a potential summer transfer.
Manchester United are rumoured to have made positive progress in their pursuit of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.
The club have engaged in contract talks with the Brazilian international as manager Ruben Amorim and United executives align on their desire to bring him to Old Trafford.
Cunha has scored 14 league goals for Wolves and a further two in the FA Cup, despite missing several matches through suspension. Altogether, the 26-year-old has netted 32 goals in 87 appearances since joining the Premier League outfit in 2023.

I want that next step - Arsenal striker target wants dream move to title-contending club
A reported Mikel Arteta target is keen on joining a club that competes for titles, opening the door to a potential move to Arsenal.
According to The Athletic, Wolves are understood to prefer the fee to be paid in full, although there is potential for an agreement involving instalments.
The Red Devils are mindful of financial regulations but are hopeful of creating space in their budget through the potential sales of several players.
Cunha recently demonstrated his quality against Ruben Amorim’s side, earning the free kick that led to Wolves’ winning goal at Old Trafford.

Following the match, Amorim was seen greeting the player in the tunnel, further highlighting United’s interest.
Reports earlier this year identified Cunha as a key summer target for Manchester United, alongside Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, as the club prioritises strengthening their attacking options.
The Manchester giants reportedly view 26-year-old Cunha as a player entering his peak years who could provide an immediate impact in their forward line, which has struggled for goals this season.
The Wolves man operates in a similar number ten role for Wolves to the 3-4-2-1 formation favoured by Amorim, suggesting he would be a good fit behind a central striker for United.
What next for Manchester United?
Manchester United’s latest Premier League defeat leaves them 14th in the Premier League with five games remaining. The Red Devils return to top-flight action in Sunday's trip to Bournemouth.
