Manchester United have reportedly identified central defence as an area that must be upgraded in the coming transfer window.

Manchester United may be losing several defenders in the summer, and an upgrade in that position seems likely.

Raphael Varane is out of contract at the end of the season and has struggled to stay fit throughout his time at Old Trafford.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans all have uncertain futures, with the latter hinting at potentially retiring at the end of the season.

With that in mind, the Red Devils are expected to target a younger centre-back in the summer.

Links to Todibo intensified after it emerged that Ratcliffe was the priority bidder to acquire a 25% stake in United. The billionaire owns Nice, where Todibo plays and this could help facilitate an easy transaction for the 24-year-old.

Mikayil Faye

The young talent, discovered by Barcelona from the Croatian lower leagues last summer, has quickly risen to prominence,

Although he hasn't played for Barcelona's first team yet, Faye has already impressed on the international stage, scoring a memorable goal for Senegal's senior team.

His rapid progress has caught the eye of clubs across Europe, including Manchester United, who are reportedly willing to make a move.

Jarrad Branthwaite

Branthwaite has showcased his unquestionable talent at Everton this season after returning from a successful loan spell in Holland with PSV.

Real Madrid have scouted Branthwaite this season, and United are reportedly very interested in the 21-year-old but will have to pay at least €65m to snag him from Everton.
