The disallowed goal by Raphinha for Barcelona against Las Palmas has generated widespread criticism, with ex-referee Mateu Lahoz deeming it an 'embarrassment.'

An ex-La Liga referee, Mateu Lahoz, has stirred controversy by criticizing the decision to disallow Raphinha's goal for Barcelona against Las Palmas. The incident, which played a crucial role in Barcelona's narrow victory, has sparked debates within the football community.

Mateu Lahoz's Disapproval

Former La Liga referee Mateu Lahoz has expressed his bewilderment over the disallowed goal scored by Raphinha for Barcelona against Las Palmas. In a recent appearance on Movistar, Lahoz heavily criticised the decision, labelling it as "an embarrassment."

He went on to highlight the perceived unfairness of penalising Raphinha for being in an offside position despite not interfering with the initial phase of play.

“It’s an embarrassment. It’s crazy that this goal is ruled out. Raphinha is only in that position, there is no influence. He can’t be punished. How is it Raphinha’s fault for being in that position," he said, according to GSFN.
