Brentford boss Thomas Frank believes Manchester City youngster Phil Foden will be a regular Ballon d'Or candidate in the future.

Phil Foden is lighting up the Premier League with his stunning performances, making him England's brightest hope for future Ballon d'Or glory, according to Brentford's boss Thomas Frank.

With an impressive tally of 15 goals and 10 assists this season, the 23-year-old is not just a key player for City but also a beacon of English football's potential on the global stage.

Foden's Ballon d'Or Prospects

"Phil Foden is a very good player," Frank lauded, pinpointing the young talent as England's most promising candidate for the prestigious Ballon d'Or, an accolade last won by an Englishman, Michael Owen, in 2001.

Foden's recent hat trick against Brentford is a testament to his exceptional skill, often seen cutting in from the left to dominate the centre, showcasing his versatility and killer instinct in front of goal.

A Rising Star in English Football

Foden's impact is not limited to goal-scoring. His ability to dribble, create chances, and relentless work ethic sets him apart, qualities that Frank admires.

Despite stiff competition, Foden's name has consistently appeared in the Ballon d'Or top 30, with a joint 22nd finish in 2022 and 25th in 2021, signalling his rising trajectory in world football.

Alongside contemporaries like Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Bukayo Saka, Foden represents a new era for English talent on the international stage.
