The dramatic 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Everton on Wednesday night ended in chaos, with a mass brawl erupting at the final whistle.

Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure were both sent off, along with Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff.
After the match, Slot approached referee Michael Oliver, initially telling him, "Great game." However, Oliver immediately brandished a red card, reportedly after Slot pulled him in slightly during their handshake.

The expert lip-reader Jeremy Freeman has now revealed Slot’s bemused response: "Sure, you give me a red for that? I will check it out for later. Me and you, ya?"
Slot admits error in reaction to late Everton goal
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming game against Wolves, Slot admitted he could have handled the situation better.

Slot also hinted he would speak with Curtis Jones, who was sent off for a second yellow card after clashing with Doucoure over the Everton midfielder’s provocative celebration in front of the Liverpool fans.

"I liked a lot that he stood up for his team and the fans, but there are other ways to do that, "Slot said adding, "Maybe I will talk with him about that. It is the same for me. I should have acted differently, but it is an emotional sport. Individuals, out of emotion, make the wrong decision, and that is definitely what I did."
Liverpool, who currently lead the Premier League by seven points, will now wait to see what punishment Slot faces from the FA after Oliver’s match report is reviewed.
