Having finalised their third major signing of the summer with the arrival of Milos Kerkez, Liverpool are already looking at their next acquisition, with Marc Guéhi their next target.

According to Nicolò Schira, the Reds have opened talks with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guéhi.

The journalist claims the player himself is keen on a move to Anfield, with Konate looking likely to leave.

According to Sportal, DaveOCKOP, a website dedicated to Liverpool news, goes further, reporting that the club is close to an agreement for the central defender.

The same source adds that Liverpool's interest dates back to March, when initial discussions were held with Guéhi's representatives.

Following the agreement for the sale of Jarrell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, negotiations have intensified. Liverpool believes they can secure the transfer for £40-45 million.

This news comes amid continuing speculation about the future of Ibrahima Konaté. The Frenchman's contract expires next summer, and he has so far rejected the club's offers of a new deal.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, the 26-year-old centre-back has decided he wants a new challenge and will leave Merseyside at the end of next season, similar to Trent Alexander-Arnold's free transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

Aouna continues, stating Real Madrid is Konaté's preferred destination, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain as other potential options.
