The 18-year-old has been nursing a groin injury since early September and has been treating it conservatively. According to Sport, Yamal has contacted external doctors. He wants to evaluate more opinions on the injury and understand if it is healing at the correct pace.

Also, the possibility of undergoing surgical treatment has been discussed. However, the player has decided to continue treating it conservatively before reevaluating in a few weeks.

Lamine Yamal first sustained a groin injury during Spain’s September 2025 international break, with Barcelona confirming the issue after his return.

He missed four games before rejoining the squad on 26 September for the LaLiga clash with Real Sociedad and then played a full 90 minutes against PSG in the Champions League.

He has since returned, playing against Girona, Olympiacos, and Real Madrid in the El Clásico. However, he is visibly off the boil, an indication his groin is yet to heal completely.
