Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named Serie A Player of the Year for 2022/23 ahead of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen
Kvaratskhelia wins Serie A Player of the Year award
The Napoli winger has mesmerised fans with his incredible skills and creativity throughout the season and has been the difference-maker for Napoli on several occasions throughout the campaign, earning himself the most significant post-season award.
Kvaratskhelia beats Osimhen to Serie A award
Kvaratskhelia is the first Napoli player in Serie A to win the award, which was inaugurated in 1997.
He was able to overcome competition from his Napoli teammate, Osimhen, who won the Striker of the Year award instead after scoring 25 goals in Serie A so far and assisting four goals for a combined 29 direct goal involvements, the most in the Italian top flight this campaign.
The pair have formed a devastating duo this season, decimating Serie A defences on the way to lifting a historic Scudetto title for the Partenopei.
Kvaratskhelia has reportedly agreed a new deal with Napoli which will see him extend his stay at the club, but Osimhen has been sounded out for a move away from the club this summer.
